Should I quit lolita?
This is really my eternal question.
Back and forward have I thought about it.
Well... it's just fashion right?But somehow it's very hard for me.
I wish I could just stop with it. I really wish that. But I like it too much.
There are so many things that points against lolita for me right now.
It's too expensive. I don't feel comfortable wearing it when I get so much attention. I don't want any attention. I always have to explain myself, "why are you wearing it?" and "what is that?".
I've begun to feel like it's not fashion anymore. It feels like scene clothings or something.
I'm beginning to feel like a big baby wearing lolita.
Lolita is so inconvenient any many ways. I don't feel like partying in it. I can't wear it to work. It's inappropriate in many situations.
If I sell all my lolita clothes I might afford a new trip to Japan.
So why can't I just quit it?!
I like it too much... it's too beautiful.

ReplyDeleteFor the past year I've had a HUGE pause from wearing lolita. I've worn lolita under 5 times this year.. AND NOW I JUST MISS IT. I miss it so much, I can't describe it.
And I think you'd miss it too if you sold everything.
If you really ARE tired of it then take a break like I've done. You can sell most of your clothes, but I really think you should keep your favourite lolita pieces.
This way you can always wear lolita to at least conventions and lolita meetups.
And you wouldn't regret it too much if you ever start missing wearing lolita again.
On a personal note..please don't give up on lolita!! You're such a beautiful lolita, I really admire your style *__*
It's not the end of the world if you take a break or sell the pieces that you would not miss having in your wardrobe. Mood and fashion both go up and down, often hand in hand.

I can understand your feelings because I absolutely love Lolita, so so bad, but I never dare to become one because all the points you just wrote above.

ReplyDeleteMåste bara säga att du var den första lolitan jag såg någonsin och jag tycker att du är en AWESOME lolita. Det är bara det att du verkar vara lika AWESOME som gyaru också :P
Mitt enda tips är att inte sälja av för många klänningar på en gång.
Ser många hela tiden som absolut inte passar i lolita.. Men du gör det. :)
ReplyDeleteHela sommaren har jag inte klätt mig i det för att jag varit för varm men hoppas jag pallar nu i höst. Annars älskar jaglediga kläder, t-shirts, kortare kjolar och knee highs liksom... Välj och vraka bland alla härliga stilar!
Åh jag känner ju precis som dig, verkligen, dte är ju så fint och jag kan inte skiljas från mina klänningar men jag mår nästan dåligt av att gå med det på stan och jag tänker hela tiden "ja jag vet att jag ser konstig ut, snälla stirra inte på mig" Det är ju så fint men det är ju så udda och när jag gång på gång efter någon timma på stan ångrar att jag satte på mig det undrar jag med egentligen vad vitsen med att fortsätta bära det egentligen är... Anyway så tycker jag du är skitsnygg i både gyaru och loli <3

Anonym: Jag tror att man passar i en stil om man lägger ner arbete och tid på att lära sig att coordinera, hår och smink. Hår och smink kan göra så otroligt mycket!

Du säger att du känner dig "like a big baby wearing lolita" och jag kan första det. Jag tycker om Lolita men jag känner mig bättre med Gyaru stil. Människor tittade pa mig som jag var en bebis men jag ville vara mer som en kvinna, en sexy kvinna ;). Vet inte om du förstar vad jag menar =S

I take it from your recent posts you gave up lolita and are now fully into gyaru. What to do when you like gyaru but still a little bit of lolita so you buy both styles?! XD because that is what I do and it seems no one else does this, because girls either want to choose one or the other and be enemies with the girls dressing in the other style. I found gyarus to be way more friendly then lolitas though, lolitas tend to be stuck up.
