How much is that?

So a while ago me and Emi Marie were talking about being able to achieve a stylish gyaru look with cheap western clothing and she came up with the brilliant idea to do this post. Some of you may wonder were I get my stuff and how I can afford gyaru when I'm a college student and all. So I collected 3 of my coordinates that I'm pleased with and that I know I didn't wear almost anything Japanese and made a list on where I bought it and how much it cost. The prices are in Euro because I know I have many international readers

I wanted to make this post to show those of you who may be a bit scared of trying gyaru style out because of the expenses that it's possible to coordinate with the clothes you find at the local cheap clothing store. In my opinion you can dress in gyaru style without having to buy the Japanese gyaru brands. Usually I wear only Swedish brands or combine them with things I bought in Japan. The prices are in Euro because I know I have many international readers so the price isn't totally accurate.

What do you think about wearing cheap non-gyaru-items and make it gyaru?
Is it possible?

  5. Yes! I love low cost oufits so much, fast fashion is great because you don't spend much, then the trends change and you don't lose much money haha. I spend all my money at F21 and H&M XD

You made some great low price outfits, it proves you can make a great look without gal brands!

  9. I totally think you can do gyaru with cheap clothes! using second hand clothing is fine and cheap and good for a beginner gyaru trying to get a new gyaru wardrobe and also if you have some small sewing skills you can make agejo dresses quite easily sewing machine or not! I'm currently making one now and will post on my blog in a week or too about it

  11. Så roligt att det går att vara gyaru utan att behöva köpa alla kläder från Japan! Tack för inspirationen, nu är det bara att själv gå och kolla i garderoben och i butikerna~

  12. Of course it's easy to be gyaru with cheap non gyaru items :) It's just the way we mix them which is gyaru or not !

I really love your outfits, specially the first and third one <3 I am new to the Fashion so I'm having trouble with building a solid wardrobe but you just proved to me that I don't need to wear brand clothes to look good.
I guess I will go look at local stores too : )

  14. i was actually thinking about this a while back because i'm too poor to order clothes from japan (because i spend too much on makeup >< lol) but i think you can definitely make great outfits with cheaper brands, it may take longer to find certain items but it's still possible, you've certainly proved it is ^^

  18. Really great post bb ♥ I think a lot of people have misconceptions about following fashion in general, that they only need to buy name or high brands to really 'fit in,' but you can achieve the same look for so much less by going this way! Or even trolling your local vintage shops since vintage never goes out of style ;3

  19. What a helpful and informative post! Thanks for sharing! And I totally agree that you don't always have to buy Japanese brands to look gal. Using your creativity to save up money actually makes your look stand out even more :]

  26. Since you really have the look with the make-up and all it shouldn't be difficult for you to find nice gal items at the local stores! Just open your mind and you'll see that you'll find so many things that could be matched into a stylish outfit! ^___^ Good luck! ♥

  27. Hahahaha, thank you so much! ^___^
All you need is some inspiration! I'm usually inspired by outfits and while I walk around in town I see items that could build a similar outfit :) Don't be afraid to try something that doesn't look good on the hanger because most of the times they look so much better on :3
    Good luck! ♥

Cheap Monday is cheap here since it's a Swedish brand, but I got them on sale since they had some defects on them that I could just wash away when I came home, haha ^___^

  34. Hahaha, that's what I think too! Since the fashion trends changes very fast there's no point in spending lots of money. Hahhaa, same here with H&M, I'm just so sad we don't have Forever21 here :(

    Thanks sweetie! ^___^

  39. That cropped jumper in the first co-ordinate is so nice! I've been looking for something like it in the shops but can find nothing at all. It's a shame Nelly.Com doesn't have an English page.

  43. Of course, I mean if you're a Swedish gal you should wear a lot of Swedish clothing, if that makes sense? It's not very hard to just copy the girls in magazines and buy everything from gal brands, it's just expensive.

You look gorgeous as always, I'm so in love with these coords!
